Saturday was HOT but it didn’t ruin any part of the day. I really do love these patriotic holidays, and I think they are becoming my favorite. I love my country and I love supporting all the things we were founded upon, we are so blessed to be here. Friday night we kicked off the weekend early with some swimming and eats with friends, I really enjoy simple things, just hanging out and talking is right up my alley. Saturday morning was church breakfast and then bbq and swimming with the family. Hazel had her first real swim and I think she really enjoyed it -until she got hungry. We also gave Hazel part of Brand’s pizza crust. She didn’t quite know what to do with it, and I didn’t have my phone on me to take a picture, but she had it hanging from her mouth and was sucking on it like a pacifier. Ohhhh Haze.
Saturday afternoon was lazy and cozy -swimming can sure knock you out. Hazel took a nap in the above pictured position -my arms. We are still on the whole no good naps during the day unless you hold me type thing. I don’t often given in to arm naps, but when I’ve got a whole evening planned and I don’t want her to be over tired I just do it.
Saturday evening we headed to the fireworks downtown and I was so very hot and baby wearing didn’t help. Also, it felt like we were just walking and walking -I’ve got to find a better place to celebrate this day. Anyways, we went to the park, walked around, looked at the old model cars, got some shaved ice -because that’s what you do in America. We saw the missionaries -Brand and I were looking for someone to take our picture, but I feel like there are only sooooo many people you can really trust not to run off with your camera, and then we see the missionaries –jackpot.
Fireworks started at 930, but it was 8:45 and we were tired, hot, and Hazel was hungry so back to the car we went. By the time we got back to the car the fireworks were about to start, so for the first half of the show Hazel ate and Brand and I watched the fireworks. I think one of our favorite parts was seeing her face as she watched the bright lights in the sky. After a while she would look at me, talk, and then look at Brand and talk, as if she were checking in with us to make sure this was supposed to happen. I love my curious, smart, careful girl.
Happy Monday Eve!
