what I'm liking, Friday: teaching your children

from: no time for flash cards

I get in continuous ruts where I feel like I don't really teach Hazel much of anything. We play inside, we play outside, we go to the store, and I feel like by the end of the day I haven't sat down with her to read a book or teach her, her colors. So, I've started searching, searching for learning ideas, something simple that I can teach Hazel, not something that is over the top in the time prep department. And so I thought I would share some of my recent finds that I'm really enjoying, I love teaching Hazel, and love that she knows so much.

Fun and easy pattern matching game.

Printable letter activities, I usually just cut the letter out and don't print it, but it has great ideas.

More busy box ideas that will help keep them busy while developing skills.

Matching colors--I like to do this on a piece of paper... and sometimes I use m&m's.

I haven't done this yet, but I think it would be a hit. Plus, it keeps the mess in the box.

If your child is more active, like mine, this is an amazing idea and I can't wait to use it for colors, shapes, and even ABC's!

What do you do with your kids that helps them learn?
