what I'm liking, Friday

So It's no secret, I love dogs. And I've always thought it would be fun for Hazel to have a dog of her own. But, last week I was talking with Brand about the whole thing, and it's just too hard to have a puppy when it's not your house.  We're renting right now, so there's that, our backyard is all rock, so there's that, and I'm not sure I'm ready to have my furniture destroyed. So, for now, I'll just look at these cute pictures of all the puppies!
These little white ones are the sweetest, but mannn if they get dirty...
I wouldn't mind having one of these, the one my family had was probably the best, sweetest dog ever!
The eyes on this one
The coloring is probably the cutest!
Dinner recipes this week:
The pineapple in these really gives it an extra touch, and the mix with BBQ is genius!
We've been into sweet potatoes lately and this recipe looks really good.
Chicken potato salad, yummy and so easy to make.
I cheated last night and bought a frozen pizza from the store, and then tomorrow it's leftovers! I always love leftovers when the meals cooked that week were extra good, otherwise I'm not a huge leftovers girl.  Anyone else?!
Also, does anyone have a dog and a toddler? Any tips or tricks that might make it seem more realistic?

Happy Friday, Friends!

  1. Puppies are so cute but so much work- especially depending on the breed. I LOVE bulldogs and have lots of experience with them. They are EXPENSIVE to get and to maintain for the rest of their life but they're so cute and so lazy- which I love. We have three dogs right now. 2 bulldogs and a 6 month old Bluetick Coonhound puppy (Jesse's choice). Our coonhound puppy is a piece of work. Constant howling, annoying the other dogs b/c he wants to play and they want to lounge, and high energy. I knew it would be challenging with this active breed but Jesse really loves hounds and has always wanted a Bluetick Coonhound and a breeder just ended up having puppies around the right time semi near us. What's even more challenging is that I'm pregnant with no energy, Jesse works a lot more than me (sometimes 7 days a week), and Gary (the puppy) is on the go almost non-stop. But we make it work. We have talked about getting a fourth dog (definitely another English Bulldog or French Bulldog) maybe when we sell this house and buy a new one (in 3 years) but we'll see how it is having 3 dogs with a baby first. Plus, when we move, Jesse also wants to get a cat. We are going to live in a crazy crazy house!

  2. I would suggest volunteering at a shelter or somewhere similar...first alone and then with the little one. See how she interacts with the dogs...that will help you get an idea of you can handle it!
