top: Old Navy, pants: (similar), flats: JCPenny (similar), watch: (similar)

Watching: Literally, right now I'm watching the news, but in general I've been watching dwts and the voice! Yay for reality tv -of which I am a sucker for.

Crocheting: Trying to work on a blanket I started at the beginning of the year, or was that last year?

Anticipating: Halloween. I'm excited for our costumes, really excited. Maybe it's because we have another participant, but it's going to be great!

Listening to: the noisy monitor. I swear, even if Hazel isn't making a peep the monitor goes off.

Thinking about: How my brain had become mush lately, I used to be really good at writing, and now my brain is just mush. I blame it on being a mom and having other distractions.

Feeling thankful: For my girl. She is my world.

Wanting: A sewing machine, a nice one. I sewed Hazel's Halloween costume and now I'm on a sewing kick, but let me be real I just neeeeeed this sewing machine first.

Enjoying:  Too much junk food. I swear it's all gone to my hips and I'm really regretting it!

Wondering: When Brand is coming home.

Smelling: A clean house, I actually mopped, seriously mark the calendar.

Wearing: pjs!!! don't worry, I'm writing this at 947 pm (;

Following: The leader., the leader... the leader.

Feeling: Happy. Today was a good day.

a condensed version of my weekend

I love my girl. This sunday she wore another dress that was mine, and she also wore the bonnet. She was the most popular girl and even the little kids were ohh-ing and awww-ing at her. Brand put the bonnet on to be funny because he didn't think she would keep it on, but she kept it on the entire time, not once did she tug at it. I guess she needs a bonnet instead of a headband?

Friday was Brand's school Halloween party, and we were legit. Popeye Olive Oyl Sweet Pea. When it was just me holding Hazel no one recognized us, maybe it was the black hair. haha! I couldn't get over the fact that Hazel just kept laughing at me when I had my wig on. She is the funniest girl and really got a kick out of the whole thing. I was able to make all of Hazel's costume, but wasn't about to attempt to make mine and Brand's.

Last week we had practically perfect weather -not so much this weekend but we are hopeful that it will all cool down soon! I love the cool weather, I love being outside in it and I love being able to open the windows and smell the nice cool air! Bring on Fall -I know everyone else is laughing at me because you are all stomping in the leaves already!
Hazel had her 9 month doctor appointment Friday and I think she knew what was coming to her.  But, with a few crocodile tears and a few pokes we were out in a flash!  Being the cool mom that I am I picked her up a sucker on the way out, but apparently I picked the wrong flavor because she was not a fan. I love this growing girl and I love when we have Brand home to play with us!

Dear Hazel,

outfit: carters, paci clip: Madeline's Box (c/o)

So tomorrow is the big day, you turn NINE months old. I cannot begin to tell you how fast this time has gone by. Although I feel like I've been your mom forever -because I can't remember what it was like before you- and then I feel like we just brought you home from the hospital. You brighten my days and wake me up in the nights. You are my favorite girl and I love you so much.

You are starting to grow so much, you are clapping your hands, and are starting to walk with your walker and baby doll buggy all-by-your-self.  You wave at perfect strangers and occasionally give them your big gummy smile, you give a little screech when you want someone to look at you -especially when it's big girls, you really seem to like them.  You love dogs, you wave at them on tv and get really excited when you see them. You still love being outside and listening to the trees and hearing the birds chirp -I love how we are both nature girls.

In the mornings when you wake up you get really excited and reach for me. You shake your head "yes" as we are walking out of the bedroom and into the family room and you even sometimes do a little dance, because you know where we are going. We play with your toys -you love your little piano, but it isn't too long that I can let you sit there by yourself because you want to get up and walk around. Yesterday we bought a paper skeleton and you really seem to like him -you squeal and wave at him and honestly I'm just glad you aren't scared of him!

It's fun to hear you talk, mainly your vocabulary consists of: hi, da-da, dad, ma-ma, mom, ba-ba, and nae-nae, but we are working on it. I think your favorite thing to say is da-da.  Sometimes when we are playing toys I'll say "Hazel, where is dad?" and you'll look around and look back at me like "I don't know mom, where is he" When dad comes home you get the most excited. You love your daddy and he loves you. "Hi da-da!" is usually what you say and I must admit, I'm a little bit jealous.

You are my little shadow and I love you so much! I have waited my whole life to be your mom my little Hazel. You are perfect.

11:20am -while you take your nap. (:

a condensed version of my weekend

Let's start with the fact that all -okay most- of my phone pictures of Hazel are a blurry mess. Why is it that my phone can't stay focused for more than a second? Does anyone else have this problem?

Now, Friday night Hazel and I had a Halloween event to attend. I was so excited to go, I made Hazel's Halloween costume and was ready to show it off to the world. When we got to the event there was absolutely no place to park, and by that I mean me and 50 other cars were all trying to find a spot in the same parking lot and there wasn't one. It was the worst, I was so bummed because it was something I had been looking forward to all week -I get excited about the littlest events lately it must be a mom thing -but also because I was dressed up in my costume too.  And so, there we were driving around the parking lot, Hazel screaming in the backseat, me about to break down and cry from her screaming and because there was no spot to park. The silliest thing to cry about I know. And as I was driving home I was thinking -how silly of me to get upset over something that didn't really matter. So, Hazel fell asleep on the way home and woke up when I got her out of the car, we played, took pictures -blurry ones none the less, and I just enjoyed my time with her. I count my lucky stars that I get to be with here every day, to stay home and hangout with my girl, she's my world ya know.
Lots of shenanigans took place this weekend, Hazel took a ride in s dolly stroller -she really seemed to like it, especially when we were chasing Brand around the house. Her laugh is killer, so killer that I need to record it and set it on repeat when I'm having a bad day.  She walked around the place alll weekend - well I held her hands, we played toys, and read books. This week she started preferring table foods as opposed to baby food. This is a little tricky because I'm not sure what I can feed her, it's a whole new world for her and for me.

She rode around in a shopping cart and loved every minute of it. This girl is seriously the center of attention at family dinners. It's all about Lady Hazel and she wouldn't have it any other way. Also, this picture looks soooo much like me when I was a baby, it doesn't hurt that this outfit used to be mine.

Happy Sunday night.

how do you eat a protein bar?

I never realized how little time I would have to myself when I became a mom. Getting things done around the house seems to be the bane of my existence and when nap time comes around all I want to do is veg on the couch. So, when it comes to eating a healthy snack and even making a healthy snack I'm a lost cause. For me snack food always seems to be something quick and on the go, but little did I know I could also incorporate this -my favorite kind of snack, a granola bar into other types of snacks for the times when I feel extra capable.

Dessert: Cut up the granola bar and add it to your favorite frozen yogurt or ice cream. Right now I would say vanilla frozen yogurt, this protine bar, and some strawberries, maybe put some whipped cream on top!

Breakfast: Cut up the granola bar and make a yogurt parfet. Add berries, bananas, nuts, and yogurt to a cup of cut up protein bar and you are set.

On the go snack: Sometimes it's just easiest to grab a nutrition bar and run out the door, if that's the case for you, you might appreciate this coupon to snag your own!

Not everyone has time to make the perfect healthy snack, but it can be easy to have a healthy snack when it's also an on the go protein bar that can be transposed into other kinds of snacks too.

a condensed version of my weekend

Okay, let's get real, Hazel really is the cutest baby ever. That face you guys! So my brother is officially a dental student! Can I tell you how excited I was when I found out he had an interview at Midwestern -I don't think he was too thrilled, but I was because I knew he would get in and that meant he wouldn't move away for school! So, his white coat ceremony was Friday and I am really excited for him and his wife, they are officially in dental school, but the studying and tests have already proved that!!
Hazel has become quite the little walker -still walking only when you hold her hands, although she will walk along the couch a bit. She is our little cruiser and I'm taking bets on when she will walk by herself, so far I've got by November, and Christmas so place your bets!

We went to the splash pad and Hazel seriously loves it! She is a lover of water so I wasn't surprised when she got so excited, it also helped that there were lots of kids to watch -this lady is so social. She had fun "walking" in the water and feeling the water spray on her. We didn't stay long, but seeing that little sparkle in her eye is absolutely my favorite, you can say we will be at the splash pad until it closes down for the season, I'm in love with her excitement and happiness and will do anything to always see it.

Also, don't forget about the giveaway we have going on over here -teething necklaces are THE BEST. Hazel loves hers and sometimes chews on it like a dog, it's silly. I love this teething necklace because it's really good at keeping Hazel quiet and content -especially needed when we are at church or anywhere quiet.
