the first official documented fourth of July

Just last week I was looking for pictures of previous fourths of July.  I wanted to reminisce on the moments that have come and gone.  But, to my surprise -because at times I feel like a photo-taking-fiend - there were no fourth of July pictures to be found.  So, I fore-warned Brand that it was going to be a day filled with documenting alllllllllmost every-single-moment of the day.  I'm not sure he truly understood the whole thing, but I think he caught on when I started taking pictures of thing things we were eating.

I started off the fourth with a healthy clean pancake breakfast, and if you ask Brand it wasn't really breakfast.  It was definitely the healthiest breakfast I've ever had in my life, there was no ounce of fat used... except for the milk because I wasn't about to spend money buying almond milk when I have perfectly good regular milk already stocked in my fridge.  And I'm not going to lie, as I was finishing up the pancakes I literally had to push myself not to heave them up, they weren't THAT bad, I think I just ate too many.

After breakfast we watched some tube and then headed out for the day.  We went to the mall, and Brand bought me some celebratory Starbucks -double chocolaty chip frap with whip cream- and he had a pretzel, one of the best lunches.  The meal was completely opposite the mean we had for breakfast, in fact it probably had enough calories to be considered lunch AND breakfast.

The rest of the day was spent swimming, eating dinner and watching fireworks.  I swear, we swam for about 2 hours, and it was the realizing swim that you don't realize how much time has passed by until you look at the clock and think, wow... that's why I'm hungry!

And after you've cleaned up and are finally out to eat dinner you find out that the chef has burnt your appetizer so you have to wait for a new batch of buffalo wings to be made.  Which takes about 10 minutes and when you're hungry waiting 10 minutes is like waiting for the mail man to come as you await the arrival of your new favorite shirt.... or something else you're really looking forward to getting.  All the while your appetizer is being re-fired your main course is almost done being cooked and will arrive at your table less than 5 minutes after you receive your appetizer.  Isn't that the pits?  During our wait we made up a fun game, it is a game best played with a paper football, but all we had was a straw wrapper so we had to improvise. And I won, of course.

Later the Declaration of Independence was read and fireworks were set off.  And at the end of the day the only thing I had to deal with were a pair of bruised knees. Pretty good day if you ask me!
