An Off Friday {But it's a Good Thing!}

Today is my off Friday! Yay!!
So here is what I'll be doing today:
Relaxing
Enjoying the weekend with not much to do except clean up.
I'll be getting some free things like:
an ICEE
a Flashlight
Toothpaste
$10 gas card
$.04 nail polish (Sally Brand mind you)
and water
(:
[And guess what? I did a $.12 purchase this week! GO ME!!]

I will also be finishing up blankets and preparing for next week!
Oh, and I have this new infinity scarf/cowl that I will be introducing!
It is pretty cute I must say!
Last week I did a poll on my Facebook and of course no one answered it and I felt like a loser.
So if you wouldn't mind answering this question for me:

Do you wear legwarmers?

I have been seeing them around a lot and just wondered if people really wear them.
[Because I live in Arizona, right now, I can't fathom wearing leg warmers because it is still pretty hot here!]
But those of you that live in cold places can give me the 411 right?!
Thanks for all your input!

My Coupon Journey Has Started

My husband and I totally scored this week!
If you looked at the ads and saw the deals then you know what I mean!
We bought 3 Popular Board games for $3, not lying!
When they are originally $15!
We also bought Cheerios for $.80
and saved 50% on our grocery bill {would have saved more but I made a little mistake}

I still know what you all are thinking,
You are just buying things and you are never going to use them.
Not true, Board games work great for Christmas gifts Birthday presents or toy donations.
And this is the first time that my husband and I have bought name brand cereal!
We are just loving it!

Remember, I like to use these websites:

The Krazy Coupon Lady
The Cents Able Shoppin - With Arizona in mind
Ms Couponista - A new one I really like

How did I start my couponing?
First:
You need to buy a binder and baseball card holders. {This might sound over the edge but trust me do it!} This is where you keep your coupons organized!
Second:
Look at all the ads, see what's on sale and see if you have a coupon for it or if you can find one.
Third:
Look at the blogs and see what deals they are finding. Chances are they found some free deals from the online couponing sites.
Fourth:
Get your game plan ready! Make sure you have all your coupons ready and all together! And print your store policies!!!

Helpful Tips:

  • When you go shopping for the first time don't start with too many coupons. Start slow and work your way up.
  • Also you want to make sure you are picky about your cashier. Typically you want to choose the younger cashiers who are friendly and easy going. {I know several people who have chosen the older cashiers and have had lots of trouble.}

I hope you are all interested in saving some money! Good luck to you all and let me know if you have any questions!

What I Wore {In The Heat}

Well, here in Arizona it is suppose to cool off sometime soon.
I cannot wait for that nice weather to come our way!
I have noticed recently that the mornings and nights are cooling off a lot and it's nice to be able to drive to work with the windows rolled down!
This week on the docket I have more couponing to do!
I'm completely serious about this whole thing and you ladies don't know what you are missing!
{But I will have a post about that later!}
Some Kohls cash to use!
Letters to read,
Products to finish making
Did I mention I have work too?!
Yes, still love working there and loving all the friend ships I have made!!
I feel so mature! (:

If you need a positive upbeat to your life I recommend listening to this song:

A Positive Beginning

I am the kind of person who loves dreaming.
I love dreaming about what my future holds.
Where I might be in the next year.
How much I would accomplish
Whose life would I touch or inspire

Sometimes I look at others and see the things they have
And compare them to the things I don't have.
I think about the things they get to do
And compare them to the things I don't get to do.

I know this isn't the way to think, live or act.
Yesterday I had the great opportunity to listen to an Apostle of God.
I felt the Spirit so strong and knew I was meant to hear what President Uchtdorf was saying.

The part that touched me the most was when he said:

As a child, when I would look at the little forget-me-nots, I sometimes felt a little like that flower—small and very insignificant. I wondered if I would be forgotten by my family or by my Heavenly Father.
Years later, I can look back on that young boy with tenderness and compassion. And I do know now I was never forgotten.
And I know something else. As an Apostle of our Master, Jesus Christ, I proclaim with all the certainty and conviction of my heart and soul—neither are you!
You are not forgotten.
Sisters, wherever you are, whatever the circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you, with an infinite love.
—President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I am so very grateful to belong to this church and to be able to listen to a prophet's voice. These men truly are called of God.
If you would like to read more from President Uchtdorf and/or read about what the other speakers taught click here.

You'll Never Regret It

Okay, remember when I said I had to take a picture of a picture so I could show you my Paris pictures?!
Well I found one of the memory cards!
Paris has to be the most beautiful city I have ever been to.
Cafe's are on every corner,
TONS of shopping
Lots of sight seeing
The metro is something to experience,
Numerous amounts of people from all walks of life.
Someday I WILL go back to Paris!

Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning?

I was 12.
Starting my first couple weeks in middle school.
Work up at 6:00 am to my dad calling.
He works for the government.
Ran to mom and dad's bedroom and saw the towers.
At this point in time only the north tower was hit
and we watched the second plane go into the south tower.
And continued to watch as the south tower collapse.
All I remember is being scared and not knowing what was going on.

I was 12 and didn't know much about the World Trade Centers.
I didn't know what terrorist were, for all I knew there was no such thing and American had no enemies.

I always get goose bumps when I hear the song "Where Were You" by Alan Jackson.
Thinking about all the lives lost and broken hearts.
September 11, 2001 will be a day we will never forget.
We will remember the Brave men and women who helped people get out safely,
We will remember the Brave men and women who risked their own life to save those around them.
These men and women are true heroes and will never be forgotten.

in '07 my family and I had the opportunity to visit New York and Ground Zero.
In fact we stayed just a block away from Ground Zero.
There was such a great feeling of peace and love for all the people who were in the towers when the collapsed and for their families.
We live in such a great country and should all be grateful to have such honorable men and women in our midst.
Our prayers and thanks go out to these families who lost their loved ones and for the brave men and women who rescued so many people.
There are so many people who were heroes and herons on September 11th. Here is just one story of an ordinary man who saved lives:

Here are some pictures of Ground Zero in June of '07.

Am I ready to be a KCL?!

KCL= Krazy Coupon Lady

Every heard of the show Extreme Couponing?
Well if you haven't then welcome to 2011!
It is the fad and so many people I know are couponing and saving TONS of money.

Now there are two different kinds of Extreme Couponers:
First there is the stocker which is pretty explanatory.
Someone who wants to build up a supply of foods and house hold goods.
Second there is the hoarder.
Yes, it is like the show Hoarding except with food and house hold goods.

So the type of 'Extreme Couponing" I want to do is stocking!
I know what you are thinking, you are just going to get out of control.
But I won't, here is the sitch...
An AWESOME co-worker has given me several websites to look into.
I have been checking them out and guys, you HAVE to get into this!
They show you how to get the best deals out there.
They also how to start couponing and the do's and don'ts.
And you save so much money!!

Don't call me crazy till you've tried it!

Here are the awesome websites that I have been searching:

Book Club [The Christmas Sweater]

I hope those of you that don't like Glenn Beck still gave this book a chance.
[I'm definitely not trying to get political on my blog]

I really liked the book and I had to head up the internet to see what really happened to his life. Because it is somewhat a true story!

Did the end trick you?!
Were you talking to Eddie like I was?!
"Dude, calm down, they are trying to help!"
"Maybe you should be nice to your mom, she has done so much for you!"
"Happy now?!"

This book was happy, funny, sad, and relieving.

I really enjoyed this read and hope you did as well!

How did you like the book?!
I want to know what yo liked and didn't!

Looking for a book to read next, any suggestions?!

What I Wore [Labor Day Weekend]

Great Labor Day Weekend so far!
Lots of relaxing and just hanging out.
Sometimes those are the best days!

Living in Arizona has it's ups and downs.
Ups:
Our winters are very nice, perfect in fact, no snow and it's not too cold!
Beautiful sunsets and rises
Mountains to hike
and a Down:
Summers stink, it is way too hot to really do anything unless you are swimming and even then you have to be careful!

Book Club [The Memory Keepers Daughter]

So two weeks ago I started a book club!
Did you read last weeks book?!
Well if you did you were in for a little surprise.

DISCLAIMER: Now, I don't read these books before I recommend them and if you are more of a PG gall not PG -13 then I am sorry if the book offended you. Let me tell you this though, I was completely shocked when I was reading it too! Let us all be mature though.

The book was really interesting.
I found it so interesting sometimes that I just couldn't put it down!
There were many
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING"
"YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN TROUBLE"
"STOP DOING THAT OR YOUR GOING TO DIE"
Moments,
Lots of
"Aww how sweet"
"Man I would love to do that"
"I want to live there too"
thoughts.

Several time I would talk to David Henry in my mind and say "Now David, if only you hadn't lied to the whole world this wouldn't be happening, you, in a way killed your relationship with you wife and Paul. WAY TO GO!"  I also have said to him "Stop thinking about your self and think about those around you!"

To Norah Henry I would say "Your husband is a liar but that doesn't make it okay for you to be a liar too!" and "You both need counseling!"

To Paul I would say "You can sometimes be a loser and you need new friends."

Boy am I blunt!

"The Memory Keepers Daughter" was a good book. I highly recommend it!

Did I mention this was made this into a movie also? Crazy!

Next up on our book list:

"The Christmas Sweater" by Glenn Beck.... (it took me 2 days to read)
yes, I cheated and already read it!

Awesome and Awesome

Yes, I know the title says Awesome and Awesome!
[I did that on purpose!]

I had an Awesome Awesome week!
LetterS, yes plural, from the bother and it totally made my week!
Awesome people to talk to at work,
Supportive,
Helpful,
Happy,
More sore stomachs from laughing SO MUCH!
I just love it!

Today is Friday!
Welcome LONG weekend!
I'm working hard to get my animals done!
Pretty lengthy work though!

Pinterest still gets me!
My favorite topics are fashion and hair.
Can I tell you that I just love looking at what everyone is wearing,
I don't think it is good for my wallet though!

This weekend I will be doing lots of this...

Yep, hanging out with the hubs!
Maybe some swimming, maybe a BBQ with friends, oh the possibilities!

Have an awesome weekend!
